Music is a unique form of creativity, and is a universal language that allows us to communicate across boundaries of language and culture. It also offers a unique way of working as a group. Success in music increases children’s self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement.
At West Green we aim to provide a high-quality music education that engages and inspires pupils to develop a love of music, and their talent as musicians.
The curriculum offers opportunities for listening, composition, rehearsal, and performance, both through singing and playing instruments. Children learn to play an orchestral instrument (currently the cornet) in Years 3 and 5.
