Physical Education (PE)

At West Green, we believe a high quality PE curriculum should be an integral part of the whole school curriculum, and one that should encourage children to push themselves both mentally and physically, build upon their confidence and importantly have fun learning new skills or a competitive game.

Through PE, our children will learn to develop their resilience, team work and ambition, leading to improvements in physical activities as well as improved concentration and academic discipline.

Children also learn about the importance of exercise, what a healthy lifestyle means, and important social skills such as sportsmanship.

Our PE curriculum is inclusive of all learners' needs and ensures that pupils of all abilities access the range of activities we offer and that they are physically active for sustained periods of time in order to encourage them to lead active lives.

This year we have been working hard to build more opportunities for children to compete in inter-school events and will continue to do so by entering more exciting competitions over the coming academic year.
