Religious Education (RE)

At West Green we are very proud to be a multi-faith school with a proven track record of harmony between all aspects of our diverse community.

Although Religious Education (RE) is not part of the National Curriculum, it is a compulsory subject to be taught in schools in England, following the advice set out by local Advisory Council for Religious Education.

Religious Education offers a unique opportunity to understand the lives of others by exploring different faiths. The large and over-arching questions about life are explored, and the answers provided by a range of faiths considered.

Through children’s time at West Green, we aim to visit a range of places of worship from the world’s largest religions in order to learn, and further promote religious acceptance and understanding.
